Plant Manager Corner
Hello Adient West Point Team,
I hope this message finds you and your family doing well. We have certainly navigated a very challenging personal & work climate over the past year and we appreciate all of your efforts, dedication & sacrifices to help us supply and service our customer through this time. You all have been very instrumental in creating and adhering to a “new-norm” of how we work and interact in our day-o-day work environment and we appreciate your continued diligence to follow our core prevention practices.
Please continue to follow these practices to help us prevent the spread of COVID-19:
- Social Distancing
- Wash hands frequently
- Use hand sanitizer often
- Wear face covering & remember to cover both mouth and nose
- Minimize touching common surfaces like countertops, door handles, etc. if at all possible
- If you feel sick, do not come to work. Contact your Supervisor & Human Resources.
During Winter Storm Uri in mid-February of this year, Adient had several suppliers who were negatively impacted by power outages, petroleum & natural fuel shortages, and unsafe transportation conditions. This storm caused our suppliers and sub-suppliers to cease operations for a minimum of 2 days, up to 2 weeks. Many of our components like foam and laminated vinyl are made with petroleum based chemicals & materials. This particular industry was impacted significantly and could not produce raw materials and chemicals for over 3 weeks. These raw material suppliers are now running and shipping product to Adient and our suppliers. However, there is an industry-wide shortage as the pipeline of materials was exhausted over the past few weeks. Some North American Adient locations will be affected by this shortage as many OEMs will be announcing intermittent plant shutdown days.
We have been working through the details of this devastating situation to minimize impact to Adient-West Point and the customer. Our local customer, Kia Motors Manufacturing Georgia, has partnered with us to help secure chemicals from alternate sources so that foam production can continue for Kia vehicles. These chemicals began delivering to our foam plants this past weekend and testing is underway to ensure seamless supply to our plant. At this time, we do not anticipate any downtime for lack of supplied material. However, this is a very fluid situation and it could impact our operation prior to suppliers fully recovering. Should anything change with this situation, we will communicate to you as soon as new information is available.
Thank you again for your contributions!!

Update- COVID-19 Vaccine
As we all continue to move forward the Company is requesting employees and visitors who are fully vaccinated to voluntarily show their vaccination card to the HR Department. Fully vaccinated means both shots have been received (not scheduled) for Moderna and Pfizer, and one shot for Johnson and Johnson. HR will review your vaccination card and record the date you were fully vaccinated. This information will be kept confidential. If you want to voluntarily provide this information, please stop by HR
What are the benefits?
- Reduce the chance of getting the virus or spreading to others
